The Tamang Heritage Trekking is the travel adventure categorized as “Tamang Heritage Trail” by travel agencies of Nepal. The “Tamang Heritage Trail” is the one of the newly planned travel excursion which takes the tourists to rough terrain trekking trail highlighting the customary lifestyle of Tamang civilization in a wonderful setting of a traditional tamang village. Around 150 years back, Nepal struggled Tibet over salt, and a war occurred in the Langtang Region of Nepal and Nepal wins the battle. The community of this area is the Tibetans who migrate from Kerung of Tibet over the border and settled in Nepal. In ancient Nepal the citizenship of Nepal is not available to real Tibetans so the Tibetans change themselves to Tamang and lived like Nepal although they are Tibetans from the border. The social and traditions of these people resemble the Tibetan over the borders.

This trekking destination is just a day long vehicle ride from Kathmandu city. The trail starts from Syabrubesi and traverses through the traditional villages of langtang region called Gatlang, Tatopani, Thuman and Briddim. The The Tamang Heritage Trekking provides the opportunity to have a nearby look into the Tamang tribe, Tamang culture and festivities, traditional decorations, and customary outfits. There is a high elevation perspective slope at Goljung Pass from where the views of Langtang and Kerung district of Tibet are seen from one single location. The travelers get an opportunity to experience the traditional village settlements of Syabru, Mane, Goljung, Gatlang and others. The travelers will encounter the natural hot water spring at Tatopani V.D.C before reaching Nagthali town. The old religious groups and houses decorated with rich wood engravings at Thuman is one of the featured tourists region of Tamang heritage trail. The village of Briddim Village will let the travelers to experience the traditional tamang style of welcoming event letting the travelers feel the actual tamang civilization. The Gatlang village is one of the high altitude village with high slope farming lands occupied by traditional religious community to accompany the holy glacier lake called Parvatikunda. The traditional Thuman village is featured for its Shamanic tribes and beautiful views of Langtang Himalayas. The other featured highlight of the tamang heritage trail is the religious tribe of DukchuGomba established by Tibetan Lama, Guru Rinpoche and ChuklaKhnagaGomba.
