Mt. Lobuche Peak Climbing
Overview
Mount Lobuche is one of the mountain of Everest region with two peaks known as Lobuche East and Lobuche Far East that are open for climbing. Mount Lobuche was first ascended by Laurence Nielson and Sherpa AngGyalzen in the year 1984. The Lobuche East Peak is a upfront climbing peak offering 360 degree views of other mountains of Everest region from the top. The Lobuche East peak of 6119 meters is one of the easy climbing peaks of Everest region. The climbing to Lobuche East is done through South Ridge and requires good health for better climbing experience. The climbers should be comfortable with rock climbing and basic mountain climbing techniques like using ropes, ice axe, and other climbing accessories.
Mount Lobuche is considered as a technical mountain to climb even though it is only 6000 meters in height. The climbing requires rope techniques using main and fixed rope with the risk of slippery rocks due to snow glacier. In the high camps the climbing becomes somewhat difficult due to steep rocky foundations and glacier snow. The climbers conquering these obstacles finally reach the Lobuche Summit with the climbing at the angle of 75 degrees overs the snow rock foundation. The climbers are rewarded with the views of surrounding Himalayas of Everest region from the top. In the end of climbing the climbers slowly climb down towards high camps and finally at the base camp of Lobuche mountain.
