  • The Jiri to Everest base camp trek is the oldest route to Everest Base Camp before airplane is introduced to Nepal. Jiri to Everest Base Camp route is the first walking route to Everest region when there was no land vehicles and airplane were introduced to Nepal. The travelers used to walk from Jiri of Dolkha region of Nepal towards the Solukhumbu region of Nepal. The walking trail from Jiri to Everest base camp is an easy trekking trail traversing through farming lands, traditional villages, forests, river banks, lush mountains and green valleys of Dolkha district and Solukhumbu district of Nepal. Recently after land vehicles and airplane are introduced to Nepal the most picked route is air flight from Kathmandu to Lukla Airport which takes generally 40 minutes to reach the Everest region. Tourists are more attracted to 40minutes ride rather than one week of walking adventure to Lukla. Today Jiri to Everest base camp trekking route is packaged for those travelers who don’t want to use vehicles and dive in wild nature to reach Everest region on general trekking trails. The Jiri to Everest base camp trekking trail has the proud history of being used by Sir Edmund Hillary during this first ascend to Mount Everest and his all visits of Everest Region. The Jiri to Everest base camp trekking route is a full acclimatized route where the travelers don’t have to worry about altitude sickness and follow the general 5-6 hours of walking per day to get used to high elevation.The Jiri to Everest base camp trek covers two different region with totally different culture and civilization the initial phase of trekking trail goes through Dolkha District of Nepal which is the region of traditional Hindu civilization and customs and Solukhumbu region of Nepal which is the region of ancient Tibetan-Buddhist civilization with some effects of Hindu ethnicity on them. As the travelers go higher elevation the civilization found there are totally antique Bon-Po civilization which are older than Buddhist religion. The Himalayan civilization of Everest region are occupied by various ethnic communities known as Sherpa, Gurung, Lama, Rai, Limbu, Tamang, Thakali and others. The main advantage of using this trip is the feature of natural acclimatization where the travelers travel to the height of 9000 meters which is higher than Mount Everest. The travelers reach to the height of 9000 meters without using mask in this 190 km long trekking route. After reaching the Namche Bazar the travelers will visit the regular tourists sites of Everest region like Tengboche, Sangboche, Dingboche, Kalapatthar, GokyoRi, Gokyo Lake, three passes, khumjung village, khumbu village and others.
