Overview
The Muktinath Pilgrimage Tour begins from Jomsom which is one of the best and most delightful hill station of Nepal dominated by the most beautiful Himalayas of Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, and Tukuche. The tourists reach Jomsom by air-flight or vehicle ride from Pokhara city. The Muktinath Temple is resided at the elevation of 3800meters and six hours walking distance from jomsom air terminal followed by one hour vehicle ride or helicopter ride. The Muktinath locale is dominated by Himalayas of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri and is a religious destination for both Hindus and Buddhist. The sanctuary of Muktinath is a pagoda style temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu of hindu mythology assorted by 108 waterspouts which are said to pour heavenly water all the year round. There is the myth for these 108 waterspouts to offer nirvana to the individuals who bath in it. Beside that there are various natural hot spring lakes are found on the western side of this sanctuary. The Kali Gandaki stream of this region is considered as sacred Ganga and is brimming with snail fossils engraved with image of Lord Vishnu of hindu mythology called as Saligrams.
There is an everlasting blazing flame known as Jwala Mai inside the Muktinath sanctuary said to be there from hundreds of years and the flame inside the sanctuary is flaming from hundreds of years. The science has claimed that the fire of Jwala Mai sanctuary as natural gas found in that district. The locale of Muktinath is popular for its traditional settlements of Thakali residents who are the primitive tribe of this district living there since hundreds of years. One of the traditional neighborhood settlements of Muktinath region is known as Marfa which is the capital of Thakali Tribe living in this area.
