Overview

The Kanchenjunga trek is an off beaten trekking adventure to the Kanchenjunga Himalayan region residing on the eastern region of Nepal. The Kanchenjunga trek is a one of kind trekking trail offering exotic panoramic views of Kanchenjunga Himalayas dominated by wild and pristine nature. The Kanchenjunga region is said to be home of mysterious snowman Yeti and they are said to be found in Kanchenjunga mountains. The Kanchenjunga trekking adventure takes place in the government protected region of Kanchenjunga Conservation Area. The Kanchenjunga Conservation Area of 2035sq km is the home of beautiful lush natural vegetation and various endangered wildlife creatures like snow leopard, musk deer, red panda, Himalayan black bear and others. There are also many bird species found in Kanchenjunga Conservation Area including endangered species like Dhanphe and red-billed blue magpie.

The Kanchenjunga trekking adventure starts from air flight from Kathmandu to Biratnagar and another air flight from Biratnagar to Sukethar Airport of Taplejung district of Nepal. The travelers land on the region of lush natural vegetation and lush mountains. There are traditional tribal settlements are found on the Kanchenjunga who are still untouched and unspoiled by modern day civilization. There are traditional tribes and civilization of Limbus, Rais, Gurung, Sherpa, Tamang in the highest altitude region and in the lower altitude region there are some hindu tribes of Chhetries, Brahmins, Newars, Sarkis, Kumale, Kami and others. The travelers start travelling towards Chhirwa village at the elevation of 1185meters following the other villages of Sekathum, Gyabla, Ghunsa, Khambachen and Lhonak finally leading to Kanchenjunga Base camp of 5140meters. The Kanchenjunga Base camp region has the 360 degree views of Mount Kanchenjunga, Kirat Chuli, Mount Kangbachen, Mount Dromo, and other mountains. The travelers after spending their time at Kanchenjunga Base camp start returning to suketar airport traversing through the traditional villages of Ghunsa, Selele, Tseram, Miring-La Pass, Sinlapche Pass, Ramche, Tseram, Torongten, Sherpa gaun, Phumpe dada, Kade Vanjyang, Lali kharka and Suketar. The travelers then fly to Biratnagar from Suketar then fly to Kathmandu from Biratnagar.
